The Alatmont High School 2009 production of "ths phne 2.0 the Next Generation" by Lindsay Price has been choosen to be a featured production on the website of the publisher, Theaterfolk. The play, which is a collection of short skits called vignettes, was performed by the 2009 Theater Arts Class. The play was a lot of fun for the actors and audience alike since it used a lot of audience participation and improv.
On the international scene, the ACHS Drama program has been nominated to perform in the 2013 American High School Theater Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. No plans or final acceptance has been made at this time - but it is a honor just to be nominated!
Keeping up with some alumni - 2010 ACHS Actor Callan Purcell returned to Australia and played "the Beast" in Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. and won the 2011 CONDA Award for Excellence by a Non-Professional Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical and Best Juvenile Male Performance in the award winning production! Looks like they will be doing Christmas Carol soon - maybe he will reprise the role he played here in Altamont!
